CANCER CASE CURED
RADIUM AND X-RAYS, MEW YORK, May 18. What is de,smbed as f] complete caneor cure throur/h radium and X-ray treatment is announced by the Montefiorc Hospital. A woman patient entered tho hospital two years ago weighing 5511>. .She has been discharged at, norma! weight. The case is described as one of the rarest in medical history, although it does not prove that- other such cases can he cured. Dr Ernest Boast, tl m directing physician, saiil : " At the best this is a brilliant experiment, giving great promise. Although the patient was in Hie advanced stages when she entered, tho disease has now been entirely driven out. This was accomplished by the alternate application of X-rays and radium. The X-rays were developed in a 300,000-volt machine. The cancerous growths were gradually dissolved. The patient regained the use of her limbs, and is otherwise recovering.”
