Y.M.C.A. CHRISTMAS TREE

A Christmas tree was arranged at tho Y.M.C.A. on Saturday for children under ten. At 3.30 the doors were opened, and tho 200 little guests were greeted by young men dressed as clowns, jesters, etc. Mr Drew, secretary of the Y.M.C.A., welcomed them, and handed them over to the charge of Mrs Adair, who had organised a series of games. SaTita Claus, who arrived about 5 p.m., proceeded personally to greet each little guest. Tea was thoroughly enjoyed. Jellies, cakes, sweets, and soft drinks disappeared like magic, after which some items were given by children, followed by a distribution from the Christmas tree. Tho arrangements were, in the hands of a committee of ladies and representatives of the boys’, young men’s, and senior departments of tho Y.M.C.A. Tho affair had the double object of putting a little sunshine into tho young lives and at the same time providing an avenue of service for those concerned.
