ATHENE, September 50. Greece, in replying to the Ambassadors’ decision that olio should pay the indemnity, dwells on the efforts to find the authors of the Janina crime, and pleads that she could not pursue her investigations in Albania, where it is believed tho criminals are. Tho reply adds : “ Tho infliction of a fine has produced a painful impression, as the people placed confidence in the Great Powers, Three out of the four representatives thought that Greece was not responsible.”—A. and N.Z. ITALIAN FLEET AT CORFU,
ATHENS, September 28. It has transpired that tho Italian fleet’s return to Corfu was due to the fact that the 50,000,000 lire were at tho disposal of The Hague Tribunal, and tho hank refused to transfer the money to Romo without the authority of the‘Greek National Bank, which was given yesterday evening. —A. and N.Z.
