SHIP SEIZED AND LOST
NEW YORK, September 16.
The unsettled conditions m Eastern Siberia arc reflected in tins action of the United States revenue steamer Bear, which has just removed Mr Charles Johnson and hag family from the Russian coast. Mr Johnson was the representative of a Seattle company, whose trading steamer leknm was several weeks ago seized by the Soviet. During a storm the, crew overpowered two Russian guards who were on board tho ship, and succeeded in getting back to Alaska under the protection of American guns.
Numerous threats to murder Mr Johnson quickly followed, and Die American Govemment decided to remove him before harm befoll.
