MURDER TRIAL DRAMA
IMPASSIONED PLEADING. LONDON, September 20. Tho closing scenes of the trial of Princess Fahmy Bey wero notable for the extraordinary and impassioned pleading of Sir Edward Marshall Hall, K.C., who dramatically illustrated tho events of tho tragedy, gripping tho pistol and crouching as the deceased crouched when his figure was outlined by a lightning flash, mimicking tho firing of the fatal shot and letting tho pistol fall with a crash on in tho floor, startling tho fascinated spectators. Tho scone recalled the Grand Guignol plays. Mr Justice Swift, in summing up, said that although he had been on tho Bench seven years tho evidence shocked and sickened him. How anyone not bound to do so could choose to listen to it was beyond his comprehension.
