Blackburn Napier, which taxied across tho starting line heading westward, lost her balance and capsized and sank. Tho pilot was unhurt.— Reuter. A third accident in the preliminary stages of tho Schneider Cup reduced the competitors for to-morrow’s race to three French machines, two American, and tho British Napier Sea Lion, which won last year. During the difficult tests for seaworthiness, a Blackburn-Napier machine was taxi-ing on the surface of the Solent at a minimum speed of twelve knots, when it suddenly porpoise-dived under the water. The pilot, Kenworthy, was thrown to the bottom of the cockpit. He emerged feet foremost and fainted, artificial respiration being necessary to restore him. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
