THE NEW TIME-TABLE,

CHRISTCHURCH, July 24. The new time-table for tho railway between Canterbury and the West Coast comes into operation on Monday. August 6. It provides for an express train from Christchurch ami Greyuumth connecting with the train from Hokitika on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and uYiiiudays ; connection with Ross on Monoays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; and with Rewanui on Saturdays. There will ho a saving of turn hours fiftv-two minutes on the present lime, by makhm tho journey from Christchurch to Grevmmith through tho tunnel, it is exported that control of the tunnel section will bo transferred from (bo I nbnc Woiks H the Railway Department on the opening day. The charges for goods will be the same as those charged for similar distances on any other section of railway in tlio dominion, There are no special tunnel charges. _____
