NEW REVUE COMPANY

GEO. WALLACE COMBINATION FOE MONDAY.

A bill of abundant allure is Indicated at the Princess Theatre on Monday, when a band of entertainers whoso personnel is wholly unknown to Dunedin patrons will commence their dominion tour with a romping musical revue, entitled ‘ The Dancing Delirium.* Tho George Wallace Revue Company comes with Sydney’s seal of approval upon it; with, indeed, a reputation for clean, fast comedy such as has preceded no company of the kind. Mr Wallace himself, the youngest producer that has ever led a Fuller company, is a trump card of first dimension, according to the critics. Hia lively, vital methods of injecting fun aro wholly original and novel, and ho has the title in Australia, said to bo fully earned, of “ the Chaplin of vaudeville.” He is as -good a dancer as comedian, and also a versatile writer of comedy songs and sketches, as witness the fact that all the songs and “ bits 11 ho uses in this piece arc from his own pen. Tn general ho is said to bo an ideal leader of a very happy band. His partner in fun is a young English comedian, Mr Tom Lincoln, an excellent foil to Mr Wallace’s robust humor, the two being, it is said, a unique fun loam. The “straight” lead is Mr Reg. Collins, a player of repute, who was opposite Miss Marjorie Bennett in tho well-known farce ‘Parlor, Bedroom, -and Bath. 1 A veteran character comedian, Mr Marshall Crosby, provides what is said tn bo a unique masterpiece as an Irish policeman; and the other male principal is Mr Jack Whyte, an adroit dancer who plays “ tough j parts. On the distaff side the cast is equally strong. Miss Nellie Hall is described as an attractive leading lady, who in addition is a -graceful dancer and a “winner” in specialties, bliss “Babe” ■Scott is the character actress of the company and also a clever dancer, while Miss Hilda Gifford has t-ho reputation of a saucy and fascinating sonbrette. Supporting these principals is the happy vocal 'band "of show girls without which f no revue could claim to be complete, Tho bookings indicate a bumper house for the premiere, and doubtless the new company will speedily win favor. The. vaudeville preface is likely to be at least equally attractive, for four now acts are"coming in, and one of them is a genuine bill-topper. This is Colloano, whose wizardry on the tight wire has. created a sensation everywhere. 1 [is act is said tn begin where others finish, and to be one series of thrills. Amongst his fonts is the hitherto unheard of triple back somersault on tho wire. Another big act will be Abdy’s Zoo, which now consists of monkeys, dogs, and cuts, and is accredited with being tho best of _its kind seen in the dominion. Making debut, too, are. M. Poincare, the clever mimic, and bliss Winnie Treva.il, sonbrettc.

The bill promises to he as entertain ing in quality as it is lavish in quantity.
