TO THE EDITOP Si rj _Tho Protestant Political Association says it is fighting for equal rights for all, special privileges to none. Will this association then demand from the Government —seeing it violates this excellent principle—an explanation as to why Freemasons, who comprise about 2 per cent, of the population of New Zealand, fill, on the average, mure than half the leading positions in the various departments of the public service, arid the proportion in several 1 departments is as high as 70 and 80 per cent.? —-I am, etc., Deficiency.
