A DEMOCRATIC CONSTITUTION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CAIRO, April 20. _ A salute of 101 guns marked the public rejoicing to-day over the signing of the Constitution. Article 3, which provides for the exercise of the King’s power by means of Cabinet Ministers, makes the whole Constitution essentially democratic. —A. and N.Z. Cable. THE BOMB OUTRAGES. CAIRO, April 21. At the further hearing of the bomb outrage trials, the prosecutor, describing the murder plots, said that plans were made to kill Englishmen with a catapult invented to hurl a steel arrow with a poisoned tip. This was intended for use at niriit, eliminating the risk of detection by the sound of shots. Ho recalled the brutal murder of an Englishman’s servant because it was feared that he had warned his master that he was going to be murdered ; also how five members of the gang who are alleged to have murdered Mr Brown were asked, when setting out on their erand, where they were going, and they replied l : “To do our duty as patriots.”—A. and N.Z.
