South Africa in their second bnings had lost four wickets for 270 when stumps were drawn. Scores:—Catterall c Woolley b Gilligan 17; Hearne o Kennedy b Gilligan 27, Taylor 121 not out, Nouree o Fender b Jupp 20, Ling b Kennedy 38, Braun 55 not out.—A, and 1 N.Z. Cable. PLUNKET SHIELD. A Wellington message states that at the luncheon adjournment Auckland (second innings) bad lost three for 96 (Anthony 6, Horspool 22, Smith 23, Stiedden not out 38. [No message had come at 3 p.m. indicating what Wellington’s second' innings had ended for. They had lost seven for 284 when stumps were drawn last night.)
