St. Easel got np on the rails over the last fence, and in the run home just got the verdict by a short head from Mazaraa, who came from a long way back and finished strongly; third horse a length and a-half away; then Sherlock, Red Admiral, and Glenshine. At the mile post Petunia led Martial Dance, Dianella, Raconteur, and Loughrea. A little further on Martial Dance led Petunia by two lengths; then Dimella and Barricon. At the six furlongs the order was the same. At the half-mile Martial Dance was two lengths in front of Petunia, with Loughrea and San Salvador next. Petunia headed 'Martial Dance at the foot of the hill, and led Sim Salvador and Loughrea. At the turn for the straight Petunia was in front of San Saivador and Loughrea. At the foot of tho hill Many Kittle went up to Corn Rigs, and at the water jump was on terms with him, Limelight being third, with Silver Peak handy. Many Kittle led Silver Peak and 1 Limelight. At the distance Silver Peak got the rails, and in the run bonus lasted long enough to win by a neck, Limelight four lengths in front of Whipping Boy; Many Kittle fourth, General Advance next.
