A WORD m SEASON
THE POPE ON MODERN CONDITIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 26. (Received December 27, at 10 a,m.) The Pope’s encyclical letter says; “Into tho sweet sanctuary of the family the germ of dissolution has penetrated. Fostered by war, it has caused l increased immorality.” The Popo deplores the spread of morbid restlessness among people of all ages, and that modesty in women and girls have been trampled underfoot by looseness in dressing, talking, and dancing. “Unseemly dances, with open insult to some and misery to others, are often rendered more provoking by the all too frequent ostentation and impudence ot those whom sudden gains have enriched but not improved.”—Reuter.
