NO-LICENSE IN SCOTLAND.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —“Twagios” is under a misapprehension with regard to my slogan. I am very pleased to hear about the progress of tempera-moo in the Shetland fishing villages. As they are allowed -to import as much liquor as they require the villagers are doubtless happy and' contented, because no one can require more than ho wants. Aly slogan is that Prohibition docs not prohibit, as witness tho following figures:—“Dry” Boston, population 748.000, arrests for drunkenness in 1921 51,794; “wet” Birmingham, population 840.000, arrests name cause same year 1,743. The difference is very remarkable. “Wot” Birmingham is free and sober, while “ dry ” Bost on is very drunken, and! has to support a liordo of corrupt Prohibition agents, pretending to examine the home-brew. That is what is known as Prohibition.—l am, etc.., Continuance. December 1.
