AMERICAN OILFIELDS
UNDESIRABLES CAUSE TROUBLE. Pres# Aesodttion—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, November 29. A message from Eldorado (Arkansas) states that, as was the; case during the gold rushes in America in 18-19, when condicta occurred between gamblers and undesirables and the self-appointed law forces, a fight occurred to-day in the oilfields involving 2,000 vigilante and the so-called undesirables, which resulted in many casualties. Some reports indicate that twenty-five -persons are dead, though these reports are discounted. The disorders which have recently been occurring in the oilfields are engendered by underworld enmities. Vigilantes paraded the towns with placards asking the disturbers to quit. Sheriffs’ posses are attempting to quell the commotion.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
