tVclhngton.—Delegates to the Seamen’s Union Executive meeting held , here during the past few days returned home yesterday. Up till 1 p.m, i.o reply had teen received by the Ship Owners’ Federation to its last communication relating to the return id men to work wilii the required undertaking. Mo reply to this lias yet been received. Mr Young staled to-day that the reason why the execulivo meeting was closed was on account of the suggestion published that the seamen_ were backing down. Members of the executive will probably consult district memberships and meet again in Wellington at the end of next week; meanwhile Mr Young stales that union members are , advised to take no notice of statements in lire newspapers.—Association telegram.
