The support accorded the band last night was not what it should have been, and the promoters were somewhat surprised that the Scotch citizens ■did not come forward in larger numbers. The Pipe Baud paraded the principal streets before the commencement of the entertainment, and was first on the list to entertain, those present at the hall. The selection was ‘Bonaeer Highlanders,’ which will be the contest piece, and the baud performed it well, and was warmly applauded for its efforts. Tho Bums Oiuh Choir, under the direction of Air B. Rawlinson, sang ‘Scotland Yet’ and ‘Hail to the Chief ’ with great spirit. Miss Beulah King’s dancing of an Irish jig brought an omphalic recall, and Mr R. Clark was encored for his dancing of the Highland fling. Miss Jessie Mncpherson gave a veiy pleasing rendering of ‘ Morning ami ■You.’ and had to respond with an encore number. -Mr S. G.
