ODDFELLOWS
The fortnightly meeting of Pioneer Lodge, held on November 21, was adjourned at an early hour to allow the entertainment of juvenile members being -proceeded with. Brothers fn/>n Kensington and Highgato Lodges were present in force and were welcomed by N.G.. Bro. J. Duncan. A short programme provided by the bovs was proceeded with, upon conclusion of which Bro. Asliu gave a suitable and instructive address, illustrated, hy lantern slides. The lecturer took his listeners through many phases of everyday hfo, a! 'd mod nis eloquence forcibly in demonstrating the necessity of always striving to do good, and tho ultimate reward of perseverance. Prior ,lo dispersing felicitations were exchanged and the hoys, treated to 103* and Oakes*. The fortnightly meeting: of Unity Lodgo was held on Monday night, P.G. Bio. J. M'lvor presiding in the ahsence of the Noble Grand, who was laid aside with sickness. Bon tine business was dealt with and the final nominations received for Grand Lodge representatives. An invitation to be present at the juvenile conoei t was accepted. A Sick Visiting Committee was appointed for the half-year, and the first nominations of officers were received for tho next term. , r At the lodge room on November io Kensington Juvenile Lodge, assisted by brothers from Hlghgate Lodge-, and the Musselburgh School fife band, gave a very successful concert, at which parents and friend of members were present by invitation. President Bro. Clias. Bqßon presided, and was supported by Bro H. Wilkinson (Hlghgate) and Grand Lodge officers. The function had been well arranged. Inferspersed- were short addresses by Grand Secretary Bro. F. W - fdnson, Grand Treasurer Bro. L. D. Kitchie, and D.D.G.M. Bro. J. fekmner, and prior to dispersing all present were entertained at supper.
