THE FLY PEST
TO TKK KDITOB. Sir, —I am pleased to see that the City Council authorities are taking steps to enforce the by-law regarding the menace to health of "the house fly, and would suggest that particular attention bo given to vacant sections in the suburbs, where horses are turned out to graze. During the heat of summer days these manurecovered sections must breed flies in enormous members, and hitherto nothing has been done to abate what must have proved to bo an intolerable nuisance to residents in the vicinity.—l am, etc., , October 9.
