SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNEY. Tho senior seveo-a-side tournament for ■the Hayward Cup was played on tiro Oval on Saturday under perfect weather conditions and on a ground probably better than on any previous Saturday this season. There were several well-contested games, resulting in a draw, with no score on either side. Gymnastic were unfortunate in losing two men in tho first five minutes, a collision resulting in Hayward and Mitchell having to leave the field. The following are tho results:— —First Round.— City 2, Gymnastic 0. Technical Old Boys 0, ’Varsity 0. —Second Round.— City 0, Technical Old Boys 0. ’Varsity 1, Gymnastic.o. —Third Round.— City 1, ’Varsity 0. Technical Old Boys 1, Gymnastic 1. Messrs Down and Wallace acted as referees and Mr S. A. Foote as supervisor. , , , At the conclusion of the tournament a practice game, Rep. Team v. hecond Selection, was played, and some good practice work was put in. The rep. team is verv keen, and should givo„a good account of itself against South Canterbury next Saturday. H. Turbott was elected capfain of the Otago team. THE OTAGO TEAM. Tho following have been chosen to represent Otago against South Canterbury at the Caledonian Ground on Saturday next: — Lawson (G.H.S.), Andrews (Momona), Horrell (Columba), Melvin (Training College), Balk (Momona), Lawson (Otago), Sclwood (captain, University), J. Wright (Training College), Johnston (Training College), Foley (Otago), Steele (Otago). Emergencies—!?. Guest; E. Ballantyne, M’Laughlin. The above players are requested to attend a practice at the Oval on Tuesday, at 4.50 p.m.; if wet, Drill Hall on Wednesday, at 5.15 p.m. Any player unable to attend must notify the secretary immediately. Playing at Masterton for the Norden Cup, ’Wairarapa 7 beat Feilding 3. Auckland 6 goals defeated Wanganui 2 at Wanganui. The Wellington representative hockey team to play Wairarapa is as follows; Moore (Karcri), Martin (Petone), Harris (Huia), Scott (Petone), Gloat (Hutt), Thorpe (Hutt), Philpott R. There was a large attendance, fifteen teams from Tarras, Cromwell, Clyde, Alexandra, Coal Creek, and Roxburgh competing.
