NOVEL USB FOR WIRELESS. [Per United Press Association.] DANNEVIRKE, August 21. A novel uso for wireless was suggested at the quarterly meeting of tho Southern Hawke’s Bay branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. A member suggested that the country and other schools bo equipped with wireless receiving apparatus. and that to each of these bo wirelessed daily weather reports and local market ratesrt'or stock, produce, etc., so that pupils could inform their parents of news of importance to farmers, which at present tho backblocks settlements could not receive until too lato to be of practical value.
Tho meeting, endorsed tho suggestion. "In connection with Nauru phosphates, it was decided to recommend' tho Government that the cost of distribution bo capitalised, and tho phosphate distributed to all parts of New Zealand at a uniform cost; also that tho different dairy companies be asked whether they would finance small farmers requiring assistance in 'buying Nauru phosphates. The meeting also decided l to Support the Southland Farmers’ Union’s request that tho farming interests be exempted from Arbitration Court awards.
