ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
MOTOR MISHAP. ONE MAN DROWNED. [Per United Press Association.] GORE, August 19. At 2 o’clock this morning a motor cav crashed into the Waimea River near Mandeville, mistaking tho hfridge crossing. Of tho four occupants, Andrew M'Lcnnan. single, aged thirty-throe, a carpenter, _of Riversdalo, was drowned, his body being subsequently recovered. The - others escaped with "minor injuries. Henry Bryan, aged forty-six, employed by Messrs Crust and Crust, slipped when alighting from a tramcar at the corner of "Howe and Castle streets last night, and sustained a fracture of tho right leg. He was removed to the hospital for treatment. His address is 888 Curaber--1 land street.
