PAN-PACIFIC SCIENCE CONGRESS

(Received August 19, at 9.5 a.m.) The Research Council considered and heartily supported a proposal to hold a Pan-Pacific scientific conference in Sydney and Melbourne next year. The Commonwealth Government has promised £5,000 towards the cost. Professor David states that an invitation to attend had been accepted by the United States National Research Council, and that arrangements were being made to send general invitations. The meeting discussed the scope of the and decided to add officers of the Council of Research to the existing Pan-Pacifio Conference to make the necessary arrangements.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
