WOMAN’S DEATH INVESTIGATED

THE INQUEST ADJOURNED. An inquest concerning the death of Mrs Elsie May Fraider, aged twenty-four, who died on Wednesday at the. residence of Mrs Imrie, of Epsom-, was opened before Mr J. E. Wilson, S.M., at Auckland yesterday. A doctor being unable to certify ns to cause of death, a post mortem examination was made. It was stated during the proceedings that Mrs Imrie was identical with Mrs O’Shaughnessy, ■ Deceased’s husband 1 said there were four children, the eldest about six years old. His wifo left Whangarei, where he resided, last Saturday to come to Auckland to her parents. She informed him about two months ago that she was in a certain condition. Detective-sergeant Hammond : Did your wifo ever mention Mrs Imrie, 75 The Drive, Epsom? Witness: No. never. Have you ever heard Mrs O’Shaughnessy?—Yes. Was your wifo downhearted over her condition, or did she make any suggestion in regard to the matter? —No. If she did have that on her mind she would know it would be no good saying anything to me. Had your wifo over mentioned anything of tho kind to you?—The only thing I ever heard of Mrs O’Shaughnessy was when she got into trouble some, years ago. Can you give any reason how your wifo came to know Mrs Imrie or Mrs O’Shaughnessy?—l Have no idea. Why do you say Airs O’Shaughnessy? The Detective: Well, your wife was in her house. You know..what Mrs O’Shaughnessy is. The Coroner: Airs O’Shaughnessy is known now as Airs Imrie. Witness: Well, that is news to me. Witness said the first he knew of the (house was the receipt of a telegram on Wednesday reading something like “ Come at once. Regret to say your wife died." That was the first intimation he had of anything being wrong. The inquest was adjourned.
