The Rescue Lodge of Good Templars celebrated its eighteenth anniversary in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Edward street, on Tuesday evening/ when the Oaversham Methodist Church choir (under the direction of Mr Davidson) rendered the sacred cantata ' Under the Palms,’ the choir being assisted by an efficient orchestra. A largo number of persons were present, but the performance was worthy of a still wider patronage. llro. das. Hilton, at the conclusion of the performance, made reference to the work of the lodge, and moved a vote of thanks to Mr Davidson, the choir, and-orchestra.
