DANGEROUSLY LOW LEVEL. DEPUTATION TO SYNOD. [Feb. United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May ,3. Tho dangerous level of the moral tone of the community was referred to by Mr E. C. Cut-ten, S.M., who addressed the Anglican Synod on behalf of the Young Citizens’ League. Mr Cuttcn traced the work of both tho civil and tho criminal courte, which dealt with many cases of dishonesty and those showing impurity oi life. He said the condition of tho community showed a terrible state of inefficiency from the material viewpoint, and a very' terrible state of allairs from tho spiritual. The Primate, in replying, said that no subject gave the Church more anxiety than the present condition of the dominion, and 1 they were very thankful for any institution, such, as the Young Citizens' League, which recognised these conditions and. tried to improve them. Ho was at one with the deputation in desiring to bring a better tone into social life through the medium of children ; and people working for those ends had the support of every member of the Synod.
