QUALITY PERFORMERS
An entirely new combination of performer,1 *, known by tho novel title of “Q.P.’s” (an abbreviation for Quality Performers), under the direction of Southwood’s Ideal Attractions, Ltd., will make its first appearance here on .Saturday next, when seventeen talented artists will, present a programme of new and novel items entitled ‘A Harvest of Humor and Harmony.’ Every item is suitably dressed, ami receives an appropriate setting. The performers are said to be all thorough artists in their respective spheres. The vocalists are supported by an orchestra of talented players, in addition to which there are various melodics and harmonies introducing ukuleles, mandolins, steel guitars, banjos, violins, flute, piccolo, cornet, trombone, xylophone, chimes, tubes, and other instruments, will be introduced. The personnel of the- company includes three comedians, a male quartet, five talented ladies, an 'orchestra, and a jazz band ; also Nina Gordon, wiio is recognised as being a remarkable mimic and impersonator. This artist has received tho Royal Command to appear before Her Majesty Queen Mary and the Royal Family. During her long engagement at the Palace' Theatre. Ijndon, her impersonations of famous flags celebrities were features of special merit, whilst her mimicry of Harry Lauder is responsible for her being popularly known as “Harry Lauder in Petticoats.” The big musical numbers to be included in the first programme are a grand opera .scena from ‘ The Talcs of Hoffman,’ introducing ‘Brig Drig,’ ‘The Drinking Song.’ flic famous ‘ Barcarolle,’ and a syncopated grand opera item ‘Verdi,’ in which the works of many great composers ore introduced in a new' and novel way. The company has just completed a phenomenally successful six weeks’ season in Auckland. The box plan opens, at The Bristol to-morrow morning. Beats may he reserved without extra charge.
