(Received May 2, at 1.55 p.m.) In the Capo Provincial Council the Administrator announced that, owing to the deficit, due to a reduction in the Union GovernmentAs subsidy and other causes, he. proposed to levy a provincial income tax on incomes above £l2O. Tho motor car and amusement tax would he doubled and licenses increased. The income tax proceeds would lie appropriated for education purposes. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
