MOSGIEL NOTES
The Mosgiol Borough Council decided last evening to call a public meeting for Monday next to consider the raising of money to assist the Russian famine and starving children of Europe relief fluid. At the Anzac services a collection was taken up in aid of the local soldiers’ memorial. The sum of £ls was realised. A special exhibit of cats is to bo a feature of tho Taiori Poultry Show this year. Some sixty entries are expected from the city. At the Court on Friday last, before Mr J. 11. Bartholomew, S.M., J. Eustace, Stanley flail, Harold Hendry, John Farrell, John Benjamin Steel, and three juveniles were charged with breaking and entering a vinery belonging to Mr John Robertson, Gordon road, Mospicl, and stealing therefrom a quantity of grapes. The adults pleaded guilty, and ono juvenile was absent. The magistrate therefore adjourned (he case till. June 25. Some cases under the Arms Registration. Act were also adjourned till tho same date. William Wyllie, who was proceeded against by the Mosgiel Borough. Council, was" fined 5s and costs for allowing a horse to wander.
