The judgment of the court was delivered by Sir Robert Stout, who stated that it was of opinion, in view of the seriousness of the offence, that the sentence was too light. The court thcrefoio, in the exercise oi its discretion, increased the sentence to fifteen months’ imprisonment, with hard labor. This case is the first in which the Court of Appeal has increased a sentence when application has been made to it for a decrease.
