Time is a fair inquiry from tho North for A and B Cartons at os Id and ss, f.0.b., o.i. Potatoes are not arriving freely, and fired qualify aro readily saleable to-day at iff a ten. Supplies of eggs are now falling oh, and values aw> firm to-day at 2s for stamped and Is lid for plain. Owing to tho cold weather business has been quiet in the fruit market during tiro week, but there is a steady inquiry for choice dessert apples and pears. Peacho.-, aro arriving jn limited quantities, and the majority of these are arriving in very hard condition. Cooking apples aro plentiful, andl aro meeting with a slow sale from 6s to per case. Heavy supplies of tomatoes continue to come forward 1 from Christchurch, and these aro difficult to dispose of from lid to 21 per lb. A fow blackberries are arriving, and are selling up to 9d per lb. A few small lines of passion fruit have arrived from Auckland, and these are selling at high rates. Kama ra.s aro also on the market, but tho demand is slack. Steady quantities of Canterbury onions aro reaching tbifl market, and tiro Canterbury market h&B adva need £1 per ton. Fhsi-class lines are inquired for to-day at £7 per ton,. Pickling onions are meeting with a good inquiry at Id per lb. Vegetable marrOws aro in short supply, and are e.sssly sold up to 7s 6d per cwt. Bacon p’g s have been very scarce during tho last yoek, with tho' result that bacon has risen Id per lb in tho wholesale market to-day. The following prices wore realised during tiro week;
