ODDFELLOWSHIP
St. Kilda Lodge met in tho Methodist Hall, St. Kilda, on March 15, Bro. T. S. Birrall, N.G., occupying the chair. The business taken included the completing of arrangements to further the lodge membership, Notifications from the South Otago District and Degree Lodge were received, and the Official Handbook for tho current year was on issue. An Invitation to bo present at the opening ceremony of the Highgato Juvenile Lodge was accepted. The vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to by the District Deputy Grand Master (Bro. Skinner), P.D.D.G.M. Bro. D. Swinton (Unity), and P, G. Bro. C. Bolton (Kensington Juvenile Lodge), who afterwards spent an enjoyable hour with tho St. Kilda brethren.
Noble Grand Bro. L. C. Robinson presided over a successful meeting of Unity Lodge on tho 13th inst., there being a large attendance of members and visitors. Vice Grand Bro. Wybur and the °ffic er . s and members of Leith Lodge visited officially. The usual correspondence and sick claims were disposed of, and invitations wore accepted from Pioneer Lodge to be present at its next meeting, and from tho D.D.G. Master (Bro. Skinner} to bo present at the opening of the Highgate Juvenile Lodge on tho 25th inst. During the evening four candidates were mitted to membership. Owing to the late hour in, which the business finished, the card tournament with Leith Lodge had to be postponed. At tho close of the meeting supper was handed round, and tho toast of visitors responded to by P.G. Bro. Duncan (Pioneer), V.G. Bro. Wybur (Leith), Bro. Robinson (Linden), and P.G. Bro. Seaton (Horeweka). After necessary business had been dca.it with at the last mooting of Pioneer Lodge an adjournment was declared, and visitors to tho .number of fifty who had attended to enjoy a progressive euchre evening were welcomed. A vciy pleasant hour was spent at tho tables, some close games resulting, the winnershaving to be decided by “ cutting.” At the dose of the competition supper was partaken of. A very enjoyable entertainment terminated with tho singing of ‘Aukl Lang Syne.’ The usual meeting of the Kensington Juvenile Lodge, held last Saturday and presided over by N.G. Bro. Eric (lonian, was fairly well attended. Sick claims were passed to two juveniles who were under the doctor’s care. This is a benefit accruing which parents whose boys are members will appreciate, especially during this strenuous period. An invitation was received, and accepted, iiprn the D.D.G.M. to be present at the institution of a juvenile lodge at Roslyn on tho 25th inst., when the officers would perform the initiatory ceremony. During recess n' rehearsal of the charges peculiar to this degree was held, tho different officers acquitting themselves very creditably. Tho D.D.G. M. acknowledged the toast to the visitors, after which tho_ boys enjoyed a pleasant time at different games.
