SCHOOL’S FLOWER SHOW

GEORGE STREET.

The George Street School held its third annual flower show in tho gymnasium on Saturday' first. The entries were mono numerous than in former years, and tho display of flowers and vegetables, especially in the children’s section, was firetch>fls A feature of tho show was the fine "exhibit of original designs in colors and humorous sketches done by tho children. In tho unavoidable absence of the mayor, the show was officially opened_ by Mr W Begg, who"expres&ed his admiration of the fine display of flowers and vegetables. He contrasted the fine appearance of the school garden, with its rockery, flower teds, and shrubbery, with its former unsightly appearance, and congratulated the committee on their successful efforts in making the George Street School tho “flower school of tho city.
