Advice lias been, received that Dr J. W. Hall, who, fill the time of his departure from Now Zealand early this year, was senior resident medical officer at Dunedin Hospital, lias, after four months’ study at Edinburgh University, passed the examination entitling him to the degree ox Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.—From onr Wellington correspondent.

In handing tho gifts, two Doulton vases, to the recipients, Miss Vida Miller and Miss Clarice West, Mr Pratt paid a tribute to the valuable work both had done in choir and school.
