DUNEDIN CHORAL SOCIETY
“Thoroughly efficient soloists, chorus, and orchestra,” when associated with the name of tho Dunedin Choral ,Society, is no exaggerationand tho music to be given at the society’s concert in IJis Majesty’s Theatre on Friday and Saturday next is_ of a high order. Tho opening work is Cowper’s well known humorous poem, set by Co won for chorus end orchestra._ corn poser lias cleverly and musician ly done liis work. It is sure to delight the audiences. Tho other work is of a different character, and nil the more marked by tho contrast. In it soloists (Madame * Winnie Fraser, Mrs Wilfred It Andrews, and Messrs John Leech and H. P. Desmoulins). _ chorus, and orchestra, have some delicately sweet work. The society’s choir will hove another opportunity of showing _ its purity of tone in double piano singing, ns well as in those parts which require breadth of treatment The programme i >3 truly a good one. Tho box plan opens at The Bristol Piano Company on Tuesday morning.
