Meek, who cstabRahod in New Zealand in 1880 the wellknown ink manufacturing business whi-h hears his iminm and in which up te the time, of his illness lie still retained an active interest.
Mi- Gordnu Fulton, of Christchurch, is at present in Dunedin. Mr Thr-o. Russell, of Oamaru, is on a visit to Dunedin. Mr and Mrs Welbrook, of Clirislchurch, are’ spending ft few days hero. Constable M’Culloch, who is to take charge of Tuatapere, a now station, was farowcllcd by members of the Dunedin Police Force last evening, .Sergeant Boulton being their spokesman in presenting a travelling bag, razor, and brueh. Constable M‘Oulloch, a most efficient officer, who has done yeoman service as .secretary of tho Public Service Association, has been stationed in Dunedin for nine years, and has had special inquiry duties. He lias done twenty-five years’ service as a policeman—fifteen in Scotland and ten in Now Zealand.
Lord Ranfurly, in a letter to a friend in Auckland, states that he hopes yet to be able to make a trip to New Zealand with Lady Ranfurly,
