LIMITATION OF ARMAMENTS. JAPANESE DELEGATE’S VIEW. STRONGEST NATION MUST SHOW THE WAY. Press Association—Bt Telegraph—Copyright. HONOLULU, October 12. The Japanese delegation to the Washington Conference has arrived. Baron Kato, interviewed, stated:
Wo are going to the Conference with a single desire—namely, to co-operate with the other nations in the accom-
plishment of disarmament. We must not forget that veal success depends upon the sincerity and earnestness of all the nations participating. Should a single nation lack sincerity wo cannot expect anything but failure. IVe believe it will rest with the nations possess-
ing the strongest armaments to take the lead in the (limitation of their own armaments to serve ns an example to the other nations. There should he. an unreserved exchange of opinion with the sole aim of devising measures which may be actually carried into effect. Mr Lloyd George has informed the American Ambassador that ho has a keen personal desire to attend tho Washington Conference, and hopes that nothing will interfere with his present intentions. He proposes to remain at Washington for three or four weeks. Air Churchill will probably accompany him.—A. and N.Z. Cable. AIR (SASTRI TO REPRESENT INDIA. LONDON, October 13.
