TRUCE UNSATISFACTORY. LONDON, October 12. The sub-committee of the Irish Conference discussed the strengthening of the tnico. The British representatives pointed out that there wor© many ways in which the trace was being .evaded, including the commandeering of Government property and 1 tho training of Sinn Fein forces. Tho Irish delegates mot the allegations with' counter-charges, and urged that the whole matter was bound up with the question of the internees, who number more than 5,250. They said that tho release of tho prisoners would be a great factor in easing the situation. Tho British delegates replied that such release would have a prejudicial effect in the event of the conference failing. Tho Government made it plain that it will not release tho internees.—A and N.Z.
