DECEASED'S UNKNOWN COMPANION [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 13. Tire inquest on tho death of tho voung man Jew was resumed to-day, evidence being given by Frederick C. Edmonds, who saw Prank Jew and M'Gregor at Shearer’s shop at 6.25 p.m. This witness stated that he heard of the tragedy next day. He and M‘Mah.cn were mates. He denied that he asked M'Gregor where Jew was. Gertrude Lillian Scott stated that she knew deceased by eight, and saw him at about 6.40 p.m. at the tramway terminus with another young fellow, who had what appeared to be a bottle of champagne. Jew seemed sober; the other fellow was not. Thomae M'Mahon was called, and tho witness Scott said she thought he was something like Jew’s companion, but sho could not identify him ae thqjnan.
