The Under-Secretary for Agriculture, after an extended investigation, stated that £120,000 would bo required for protective measures during tho coming season. £500,000 had been spent in the past fourteen years in efforts to eradicate the tick. LIEUTENANT PARER’S FLIGHT. MELBOURNE, Auguts 3. Lieutenant Parer commenced his flight round Australia in a biting wind, ram, and hail, accompanied by Mark Parer and Anthony Kayo. AN UNFORTUNATE EXPERIENCE, MELBOURNE, August 4. (Received August 4, at 11.40 a.m.) After travelling forty miles Lieutenant Parer’s engine developed trouble. 110 landed safely, and sent his companions away to obtain wood for overhauling purposes. While they were away Parer started to. overhaul tho engine. A strong wind overbalanced tho machine, and his legs and feet were caught in the revolving propeller. His big too was broked and both his feet were badly bruised. Ho is suffering severely from exposure. When bis companions returned they removed him to the hospital. ' THE WHEAT MARKET. ADELAIDE, August 3. In the Assembly the Loader of tha Labor Party has given notice of motion of censure in tho form of an amendment to tho Address-in-Reply, protesting against the Government decontrol of wheat. August 4. (Received August 4, at 11.40 a.m.) In the Assembly tho Premier announced that the Government intended to adhere to its decision in regard to wheat. Tho. censure debate was adjourned.
