The usual meeting of Loyal Dunedin Lodge was presided over by N.G. Bro. Timms, who.had the support of a full complement of officers and a fair attendance of members and visiting brethren. Routine business being disposed of, P.G. Bra. Sheppard introduced the C.R. and members of Court Woodlands Pride, A.0.F., after which the hall was cleared And dancing indulged in until 11 p.m., about fifty couples participating. N.G. Bro. Massey presided over a full meeting of tho Loyal Taieri Juvenile Lodge at the last meeting. Two new members were initiated. The handling of the initiation by tho juveniles was very fine, their ritual work being ranch above the average. It was decided to pay an official .visit to the Caversham branch at an early dale, and supply the evening’s entertainment. The meeting of Loyal Mosgiel, held on the 12th inst., was well attended 1 . N.G. Bro. Roberts presided, and had a busy time. Much debatable matter was brought forward P.P.G.M. Bro. W. Smollio and P.G. Bro. A. Cameron being much in evidence. One now member was initiated and one other proposed for membership. Loyal Alexandra Lodge, Port Molyneux, held a good meeting on the 12th inst., N.G. Bro. Prentice presiding. One proposal for . membership was received. _lt was decided to hold a summoned meeting on August 3 to consider an alteration to the rules. At tho conclusion of the lodge business members adjourned to the Port Molyneux Hall to compete in a card match against all-comers. They proved too much for their opponents. After partaking of refreshments a couple of pleasant hours were spent in social intercourse. The usual toasts were honored, interspersed with songs, etc. A return match will be played next lodge night. Members of Loyal Tuapeka Pioneer. Lodge, Lawrence, are Iciiijg .forward with plea-sure to 'a visit from members of city lodges. Tlie project was discussed at its meeting held on the 12th inst., and it was unanimously decided to fall in with tho suggestion of the Handbook Committee and accept November 19 as tho date on which the function shall take place. The meeting was well attended. Two brethren from Wnipori were present, and accepted office in tho lodge for the ensuing term. The installation of officers was ably conducted by L.M. largo attendance is anticipated at the next meeting, when the auditor’s report and balance-sheet will bo presented. At the conclusion of tho business of its meeting of the 12th inst. the members of Loyal Roxburgh were tho guests of P.G. Bro. R. George, who, to mark the entrance of tho third generation of his family into office, entertained the lodge. A very enjoyable game of cards was followed by a" repast in the Teviot Tea Rooms, after which a programme of musical items (to which all contributed) was carried out. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bro. George for his kindness. Tho official visit of sister lodges to Loyal Centenary was from every point of view a most 'satisfactory function. Visiting brethren turned out in good numbers, and were entertained right royally. Customary toasts were duly honored and responded to by representatives of all city and suburban lodges. . . Social intercourse is a strong point with Loyal Albion, whose held op Thursday last, was demonstrative of tins, phase of Oddfellowship. Members wore entertained by tlie trustees in a manner which left nothing_ to bo desired. Officers and members of sister lodges were cordially invited, to attend the nest meeting of tho lodge, when certificates will _be presented to several past officers. It is anticipated that the meeting will_ bo_ a bright one. The members of the District Executive have signified their intention of being 'present. Prov. D.G.M. Bro. J. Will had the pleasure of installing P.G. Bro. H. Wells inthe N.G.’s chair at the of Loyal Valley, held on Monday evening, this being Bro Wells’s third terra in the major office of. his lodge. Two candidates for admission were proposed. The next meeting of the lodge will commence at 7 p.m. to enable members _to participate in the entertainment provided by tho Valley Lodge of Rechabites. It was resolved to hold the lodge anniversary function on August 15—an open night.
