At the half-yearly meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Society of Accountants on Wednesday, a sub-com-mittee, consisting of Messrs E, W. Hunt and O. M. Bowden, was sot up to confer with the Senate of the New Zealand University and to bring before that body several matters requiring consideration. With regard to (he conduct of audits of public companies undertaken bv persons other than members of the ‘socioly, it was resolved to approach all solicitors in practice in the Dominion, requesting them to insert in the articles of association" of public companies a danse to the effect that audits of such companies must he conducted by members of the society who were registered as public accountanls.
