SCHOOL VACATIONS
PALMERSTON. The distribution of prizes at the Palmerston District High School took place on Tuesday afternoon. One of, the features of the ceremony was' the exhibition of a framed certificate awarded by the Royal Humane Society to Wm. Henry Bayly for rescuing two girls who had got into danger while bathing in the Shag River. Bayly, who was a pupil of the school at the time of the incident, and now resides near Roxburgh, was unfortunately unable to be present to receive the certificate.
