ST. KILDA FIRE BRIGADE

The St. Kilda Fire Brigade held their annual competition on Alexandra Park on Saturday afternoon, under ideal weather conditions, and in the prcsenco of a failnumber of ratepayers and friends. The Mayor of the borough (Mr A. D. Edgar) and several members of the Borough Council were also preseut, and took a' keen interest in the, work of tho firemen.

The competition was for trophies presented by tho St. Kilda Council and Mr W. Gcodeve, and, although no very fast times, were recorded, an interesting exhibition was provided. Lieutenant R. Duncan, who has competed at U.FJS.A. demonstrations in all parts of New Zealand for many years past, was hi splendid form. Fireman H. M'CTorie also gave a fine exhibition of coupling work. The competition -was confined to two events, and Lieutenant Dnncan was the winner of the aggregate, while Fireman M'Crorie won tho Gilbert memorial event, and Foreman C. Stewart the hose, hydrant, and union event. No competitor was allowed to win more than one trophy. Rasults-r GILBERT MEMORIAL.
