Sir Godfrey Collins, a .Junior Lord of tbe Treasury, interviewed on his return from Srussels, stated : ‘ ‘ T>h© conference found no new remedy for the financial trouble. Few of its recommendations are ongual. The scheme propounded by the conference for the creating of credits in favor of impecunious countries has not worked out m detail, but the feeling of some of tbe delegates, including myself, was that the bonds to be giveii by the Government of an importing country should be supported by an international guarantee, The conference considered that --hfi rolntiV6 advantages of the various means for increasing revenue, whether by direct or indirect taxation or capital levv, would depend upon the special economic condition in each country.
