The laborers say the miners must not have it all their own way. The miners have accepted the Government offer by a majority of 65,000. IN AMERICA. NEW YORK, April 15. A message from Chicago elates that 12 labor leaders of the raihvaymen’s strike have been arrested and charged with violating the Congressional Anti-strike Act. Agents of tl.e Department of Justice raided a labor meeting# to secure the leaders of the alleged communist conspiracy, v hich is aiming at the overthrow of the United States Government, Reuter’s Telegrams. ' Later. Nineteen strike lender? have been arrested in Chicago, and the arrest of 50 more in other centres is anticipated. Traffic conditions have improved in the West; but New York is badly paralysed owing to the stoppage of supplies of eggs, butter, milk, and other products. The strike leaders deny that the Independent Workers of the World or any other radical influences are behind them. WASHINGTON. April 15. A resolution has been introduced into tne House of Representatives to impeach the Under-Secretary of Labor (Mr Louis F. Post) on a charge of interfering with the deportation of Reds from the United States to Russia. IN ITALY. ROME. April 14. . Following on the steel workers’ strike at Turin a general strike' was declared from the 10th hist. IN AUSTRALIA. . SYDNEY. Anril 16. The Labor Council have declared against a scheme of profit-sharing, under which a contractor for Government wheat silos proposed that the workers should receive 50 per cent., the staff 25 per cent., and the employer 25 per cent, of the profits. The council contend that the scheme would result in a tremendous speeding-up, and would be inimical to the interests of the working class. The council declare that all wealth produced by labor .applied to raw materials is the rightful property in its entirety of those producing it.
