GOOD ROADS MOVEMENT

WELLINGTON, April 16. The difficulties of county councils in meeting arterial road maintenance expenses were brought before the Hon. J G Coates, as Minister of Public Works this morning by a deputation from the Wanganui and Rangitikei County Councils. j.ne Minister said he would go into the matter of toll gates, and give a decision. The department was now preparing a rel port on the subject of main road maintenance, which would probably be th» basis of future action and legislation.
