D.J.C. COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the D.J.C. Committee was held this" .afternoon. There were present Messrs A. C. Hanlon 'in the chair), J. Gow, W. H. L. Christie, P. Miller, E. H. Lough, W. J. Coughlan, A. S. Orbell. and S. Myers The Works Committee reported that work in connection with additions to the totalisator building was progressing satisfactorily. They also recommended that the foundations for the proposed new stand for outside enclosure be proceeded with, and the lawn formed.—Besolved that the recommendation be adopted. It- was decided to forward a circular letter and pamphlet to all clubs giving reasons why the 7st minimum should be adopted.

Several proposed alterations to the rules were submitted, and it,>*as decided that consideration be adjourned till the next meeting. It was decided that entries for the Winter Meeting be postponed from April 23 to 30. GOLF. 'The annual meeting of tho Tort Chalmers Golf Club, was held last evening, when there -was a good attendance of members. The report for past year showed that the season had been a fairly successful one, -whilst tho finances aro in a sound condition. The following officers were elected: President, Mr John Mill; vice-president, Mr W. B. Morgan; captain, Mr G. R. Baxter: lion, secretary, Mr J. H. Crawford; Ladies' Committee—Miss Ivimev. Mesdames Cunninghame-, Love, W. Morgan and De Mans; Men's Committee— Messrs Borne, Tewsley, H. Cunningham, J. Love, and C. C. Scott.

It was decided that play commence on April 17. and the ollicial opening be arranged for May 1, tho match to be a mixed foursome. Tho prizes won during last season were presented at tho close of tho meeting. RUGBY. The Port Chalmers Club hold a full practice on the Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon, at the close of tho sports gathering.
