SCHOOL COMMITTEE REPORTS
MORAY PLACE. The annual report of the committee con. tabus the following items of interest; Throughout the year the attendance’ has been well maintained, averaging from 518 to 528 pupils. The health of the children had been excellent, and early in May of last year winter games were taken up with great interest among the • children. The boys started a. football team and the girls basket ball. It is worthy to mention the girls played several of the schools and were very successful with results. During ..the winter months the children who remained at the school for their lunch received a hot cup of cocoa, which was much appreciated. In an around the school the Education Board have carried out several improvements. The yard has been asphalted. Electric light has been installed in two of-the class-rooms. The light in these rooms was very inferior, but is now all that is required. The desks in the infants’ room have been altered and blackboards supplied to the children. An honors board is now in course of construction, and the committee would be pleased to hear of, and place on record the names of any ex-pupils who have given their .life for their country’s sake. The inspector's report on all branches of the school work was excellent, and in-the examination of Standard VI.,- towards the end of the year-, out of 25 candidates 22 gained their proficiency certificates. Canon Kevill and Sisters Jean and Elinor have rendered valuable assistance in giving Bible lessons to the children, the financial position is very satisfactory, and the school is free from debt. Our credit balance now stands at £sl 11s lid. The head master and his stag are to be congratulated on the success of their efforts during the year, as the report received from Inspectors Bossence and Hardy was a highly commendable one.
