METHODIST MINISTERS
In accordance with the Methodist tradition and practice of change, several of the most respected and best liked ministers in Dunedin and suburbs are leavinsr for fresh pastorates. Thus the Rev. A. "Hopper leaves St. Hilda, the Itov. S. H. D. Peryman closes his Port Chalmers ministry, and the Rev. H. Ford leaves Glenaven. In addition, the Rev. S. Griffith, of Caversham Methodist Church, after a circuit ministry of over 58 years, is now retiring, on medical advice, into the supernumerary ranks, and leaves Dunedin on Thursday next, with his wife and daughter, en routefor Auckland, where they purpose making their home. Mr Griffith, who recently relinquished the position of chairman of the district, will conduct his farewell services ito-morrow —at Abbotsford in the morning and at Caversham in the evening. A valedictory social will bo held at Caversham on Wednesday evening. The harvest festival is also being celebrated at Caversham to-morrow, the morning preacher being Rev. Isaac Sarginson.
